Hot Tracks

Hey. As you can see, with all the last minute Christmas shopping, and family stuff, not much posting got done. Oh well, it happens. Speaking of which, I hope everyone had an awesome Christmas.

So what have I been listening to lately, other than christmas music? Well, you're about to find out.

Cheri Dennis "Pretend"

I really like the melody of this one. It's a fast, hip-hop influenced track. I'm also liking the vocals and most of the lyrics. I can def relate to the chorus, and first verse where she talks about wanting more of his time, but at the same time not wanting to stress him out. So she doesn't show it. I get that, completely. I still feel her in the second verse, it's just the house with six bedrooms blah blah that I can't identify with, and I don't need to. Money is not what I'm about, I'm all about the love!

Listen/download. Colby O Donis "Under My Nose

The beginning of this song is soooo cute how he talks about how nervous he was about their first kiss...Aww.

Anyways, the melody of this song is what gets to me the most! It's always in my head. This is a wierd thing to point out, but there are three main parts that get to me. LOL and I believe they happen in order, haha!

1. "We rushed too fast into this, only time will tell."

2. Cuz baby you know..."

3. "I never saw this coming no."

Yes I know that was random and pointless...Oh well.

Listen/download. Jaheim "have You Ever"

Just a cool song from Jaheim's latest album. Most people I think could identify with the lyrics in some way. It's just talking about situations where you regret your decisions.

Listen/download. Jaheim "Just Don't Have a Clue"

I mainly like the chorus on this track. The lyrics are pretty good, and he sounds good in it too, which is always nice.

Listen/download. Jaheim "The Chosen One"

Listening to new Jaheim got me in the mood for some old Jaheim, lol. This is from "Ghetto classics" from last year, and it's my fave track from the album. The chorus rocks, and I of course love how he always puts her first, no matter what.

Listen/download. Bridget Kelly "This Is It"

I'm likin' these vocals, and the beat is pretty cool. *sings* "If this is it, we gotta stay together. Don't wanna let this go if we found true love..."

Listen/download. Natasha Bedingfield "Love Like This"

There are two versions of this song, a solo version, and one featuring Sean Kingston, which is the one I'm posting. The lyrics are decent, vocals are okay, the melody and beat rock my world!! It's that damn piano...it gets me. If I had an instrumental, I'd sooo be singing it.

Listen/download. Tyra Bolling "Givin' Me a Rush"

This RnB singer, going by the stage name of "Tyra" or "Tyra B," is going to release her album sometime next year. And this is her first single. I'm just lovin' everything about this song really. From the soft, sultry vocals, to the lyrics which are definitely niiice. It just has a good RnB vibe all around.

Listen/download. Ne-yo "Go On Girl"

Yay! An excuse to post some ne-yo as this is his current single! This is and has always been my favorite song off of his latest album. It's just so sad, the melody gets to me, and I love how he sounds, of course!
I really hope this single does well.

Listen/download. Fergie "Clumsy"

I wasn't sure about this song when I first heard it, but now I'm definitely liking. I'm into the lyrics, and it's catchy as hell. The only part I don't like, and do skip over, is where she's talking. IMO, it almost doesn't fit with the song or something. It's just wierd. Listen/download. And that's about all I feel like posting at the moment...

Taio Cruz

I've known about this guy for a couple of months or so now. If you haven't heard the name before, then you probably haven't had the pleasure of listening to his music either. Well, it is very unfortunate for you. ...or should I say was, as you'll get to hear some of it today.

So who is he? Oh, just one of the UK's best kept secrets. He sings, writes, and produces. And if you ask me, he rocks! His voice is niiiiiice, and his beats and lyrics are definitely on point.

Taio has worked with some US artists like Britney Spears, Usher, and Mya just to name a few. And in the UK, he's worked with various artists including Nitin Sawhney and Omar, as well as wrote Will Young's "Your Game," which went multi-platinum and won best British single at the brit awards.

And now onto the songs! yay!

"I Just Wanna Know"

This single was released in 2006 and made it to #29 on the UK charts. It's a good one if the one you love has been acting strange, and all you want is for them to tell the truth and just get it over with. But the awesome thing about this song, is it doesn't address the issue in an angry, threatening way. He's saying that he just wants to know and is simply asking, not demanding that she tell him. I think that when it comes to dishonesty or any kind of problem in a relationship, that's the best way to handle it. If you surround yourself in anger then you're never going to be able to talk about it, and if you can't talk about it, then there's no chance of working it out...

Listen/download. "Moving On"

In 2007 he released his second single, "Moving On," which made it to #26. This song is catchy as hell, once I listen to it I can't stop singing it.

Listen/download.I Can't Say Go"

Just as catchy as Moving On IMO. I love it! That "Uh-oh," stays in my head...

Listen/download."Give My Love Away"

OMG he sounds soooooo awesome in this one! This is definitely my fave song by him so far.

Listen/download."I Can Be"

This is a nice positive song with an awesome melody and hot beat. The songs message is that you can be anything you want to be if you put your mind to it. Aint that the truth! The key is believing in yourself,, even when nobody else does. You are what you believe.

Listen/download."She's Like A Star"

OMG the lyrics are soooo sweet! It puts a huge grin on my face, plus he sounds amazing which makes it even better!! Gah, he can sing to me any day!

Listen/download.

Ok ok I have more, but I think I'll stop posting tracks by him now lol. I think everyone gets the point that I'm definitely feelin' this guy... No more gushing for me.
...today. :D
So, if you're feelin' Taio Cruz, and live in the UK (which I don't but I'm still excited), look out for his album set for a March 2008 release date. I have a feeling it will be worth the money!

Until next time...

ALBUM THOUGHTS: The Dream - Love Me All Summer Hate Me All Winter

So this is the guy who's responsible for writing Rihanna's "Umbrella," which I hate, and J. Holiday's "Bed," which I love. So, bassed on my mixed feelings about this guy, I had to check out his album, released on December 11th. What do I think of it? Well...not much.

From what I've been reading elsewhere, everyone seems to be feelin' it. But I don't think it's all that great. The album definitely isn't horrible, it just lacks soul which for me is disappointing. Most of the tracks bore me, so I'll only comment on the ones that caught my attention in some way. I'll go in chronological order.

Starting with the fifth track, "She Needs My Love." The first thing that grabbed my attention about this one was the beat. As the song progressed I found myself liking the chorus and learning the words rather easily. IMO, the lyrics aren't anything too special, and I hate the rap-ish part. I do, however, like the idea of a man being confident in how his woman feels about him, knowing those other guys dont' have a chance and loving it.

Track 6, "Falsetto" is one with a cool beat, and the tune is hot. It's catchy. The lyrics aren't wworth commenting on...

Track 8, "Purple Kisses," is one I do, for the most part, enjoy. I like how he can't get enough of her kisses. And I especially like the part when he talks about her knocking at the door and he's trying to gain some self-control to keep her from knowing she's winning...lol. That puts a grin on my face.

Track 11, "Livin' a Lie," features Rihanna and is definitely growing on me. As far as lyrics go, I can definitely understand that feeling. The song is pretty damn catchy with a pretty cool beat to go with it. This just might be my fav track on the album...After listening to it a few times, it definitely is. I think I officially love it now!

The last track that caught my attention ironically happens to be the final track on the album lol. Track 12, "Mama," sounds like it actually had potential. Unfortunately, the effects ruined it for me. It's too bad, because I had really high hopes for this one. I think the lyrics are sad, and it sounded like he was singing with emotion, but I can only tell so much from the effect induced headache...

And here's something totally random and pointless. The songs I want to like but just can't get into are, "Love Songs" as I love the beat, and "Playin' In Her Hair" cuz the chorus is cool.

So, if you like songs with hot beats, catchy tunes, and don't mind disposable lyrics, then you'll probably enjoy this album. The production is definitely good, I just find the lyrics are a bit too agressive for my liking. But that's just me. To me, RnB isn't about hot beats and crap lyrics, it's about pouring out your soul, and telling a story that actually means something... A few emotionless songs here and there is fine, but an album which consists of 90% crap just doesn't cut it for me. And Although I will probably continue to listen to four out of the five songs I commented on, this isn't an album that I would rush out to get.

Anyway, that's just my opinion. Check him out and see what you think for yourself.

Until next time...

More music

Jordin Sparks "One Step At A Time"

She sounds great in this one, and gah I love singing it! It's a nice positive song, just reminding you to relax and let things happen naturally. Even if things aren't going the way you planned, one day you'll have all you dream of.

Listen/download.

Jordin Sparks "Next to You"

A nice RnB track with a good melody. I like the music and how she sounds. And, I can definitely relate to what it's about. Staying awake all night thinking of the one who's got your heart, and wondering how to get to them...

Listen/download.

Jordin Sparks "Worth the Wait"

This is a bonus track that I absolutely love!!! This one is all about the lyrics for me. It makes me think of someone. I could seriously sing it to them and mean almost every word... Definitely check it out.

Listen/download.

Cristal Q "Gettin' That Feelin'"

This girl seems like someone that I could get into. This was the first song I heard by her and I love it!! I really like the instrumental,, the lyrics, and I love singing it. It's basically about missing the one you love, and constantly being reminded of them.

Listen/download.

Cristal Q "Let Me Go"

Out of the other songs I've heard by her, this was my second fav. In terms of topic, it's not much different from the first one I posted, but still I'm liking.

Listen/download.

Megan Rochell "Becha"

I was going through my music collection yesterday and stumbbled across an artist I haven't listend to in a while, Megan Rochell. Unfortunately this girl's album never got released. What a shame, cuz it's a great RB album. A lot better than the stuff out there today. Anyway, this track is one of my favs, it has some good lyrics, and I love singing it, which isn't a problem as it seems to stay in my head.

Listen/download.

Megan Rochell "You, me and the Radio"

This is the titled track from the album, and it happens to be one that I quite enjoy listening to. It's got a very chill yet sexual vibe to it, which I'm totally feelin'. Nothin' like a little love making in the car...

Listen/download.

Chris Brown FT Kanye West "Down"

I'm ending this post with a song that I can never stop singing after I listen to it. The first time hearing it, I instantly recognized the sample, but it took me ages to find out who the song was by and what it was called, which happens to be, "what's up" by Four Non Blondes. Anyways as far as this song goes, I don't care about the lyrics one bit, they're crap. But that doesnt' matter, I'm way too caught up in the beat in the hook to pay attention! Ooh, kanye does have some good lines though I believe, lol. Anyways check this one, it's hot!

Listen/download.

That's it for now. Until next time...

Songs I'm feelin' ATM:

Wow! It took me a little over a week to make my second post...how sad. Anyways, moving onto the music.

Haha this one rocks, Keke Palmer "The Game Song." The beat is hot and the concept is cool. It's something most girls can relate to. We've all been there, when our man doesn't have enough time for us because he chooses to play his damn video games instead... Grrr, we all hate it!

Mmm, I'm lovin' this song, Lil Eddie "All Day Do It!!!" The lyrics, the beat, how he sounds. Wow. It just gets me in the mood for a long hot night of slow sweet love with someone special! Now, if only that someone was here then maybe I could stop listening to it...lol.

Ever fallen for someone even though you and that person never made anything official? What a dangerous situation to get into. I've been there and it's not fun. "Why can't it be me and just only me?" Oh yes, I remember asking myself that exact question, lol! If you've been in that situation then you'll love this one. "Thought You Were Mine."This is also by Lil Eddie and I'm sure lovin' it!! Not only is it awesome to sing and listen to, but It's a great reminder to try as hard as you can not to give too much of yourself to someone unless you know it's official, and never to assume anything. It's unfortunate but like what happened in this song, often times the other person isn't feelin' you as much as you are them. I guess the best thing to do is wait until you know it's official because then you know it's safe to give your all. Even though holding back isn't exactly the easiest thing to do...

This song, D-Ground "My Girl," is pretty catchy in a fun sort of way. I dunno, first time I heard it, I smiled. It's nothing too special lyrically in all honesty, but I just like it. He does sound good though.

Aww, this song makes me smile. Leon "Sweetest Thing." It's about falling for someone half way across the world. I guess to appreciate this song you need to believe that things like that are possible, and as someone who believes in love to the fullest extent, I do. ...Anyways, he loves how sweet she sounds and how sweet she is. It's so cute I can't help but like it, plus it stays in my head.

Now time for a song from 2005's winner of the X Factor in the UK, Shayne Ward. This song, "Until You," is from his recently released album, "breathless," and it's my fav track from it. It's not exactly RnB, it's more pop, but I don't care. I like the lyrics so much. It's just a sweet love song wich of course is my reason for liking it, and he sounds pretty damn good in it too.

I like singing along with this one, and the hook seriously gets to me lol. Johnta Austin "The One That Got Away." The melody and the beat are definitely the highlights for me. The lyrics and vocals are pretty good, too.

That's it for now. Until next time...

First Post

Hey yall. Woohoo, my first post!
This is really just to get things going...
These songs are nothing knew, and probably everyone has heard them, but oh well. I like them damn it. And besides, I wasn't intending on posting new music only. I'll be posting both old and new stuff, a lot of which unfortunately doesn't get regular radio play. You'll probably find some artists or songs from time to time that you haven't heard of, and just might end up liking. I hope so anyway. That's what this is all about. My opinions on them are just an extra addition lol, mainly because speaking my mind is one of the things I do best.
Anyways, here we go with my first song of choice.
Ne-yo "Sexy Love" Such a wonderful song by the incredibly talented amazing Ne-yo. Yes, I love him. Can you tell? lol. I'll try not to post about him too much. :P
Anyways, I've loved this song from the first time I heard it. I definitely rate this song a 10. Random fact, but 10 is also the track number on the album "in my Own words" where this song can be found. LOL! Anyways...what do I love about this track? Everything! The super sexy vocals, the melody, the production, the lyrics! GAH! I just love when a guy is totally crazy about a girl! It's soooo sweet!! He must have been extremely in love when he wrote this. It makes me feel so good every time I listen to it.
I remember when I saw him live, as soon as he started singing this song, an huge grin instantly appeared on my face. The studio version does that to me too.
The second song I feel like posting, John Legend "Refuge (When Its Cold Outside)" is just an awesome song for the lovers out there. I think it's the melody that gets to me the most in this one, though the lyrics are also nice. Btw, the album in which this song can be found, entitled "get lifted," rocks!! I'll post more songs from it some other time.
Now, here's one of my fave destiny's child songs, or should I say Beyonce songs, as she's the only one who sings on this track lol.
"Brown Eyes" The lyrics are actually nothing too special, but it's a cute love story none the less. It's amazing to me how she can be so confident in his love for her. I guess it can happen, lol. I really love the instrumental for this song, and the melody! And of course, beyonce sounds absolutely awesome. This is definitely one of my fave love songs to sing.
While I'm at it, here's another song I love singing:
Mariah Carey "All I've Ever Wanted." Ah yes. The wonderful Mariah Carey. She has a lot of great songs. both lyrically and vocally. I feel that ballads are where she truely shines. This song has some pleasant vocals and some really deep lyrics. It's a great song if you're truely longing for someone, and they have no clue just how deeply you've fallen for them.
Fav lyrics: "If you were my own, to caress and hold, I would shower you with love, and drown within your soul."
I'll conclude this post with some songs by an american idol finalist, who made it as far as the top three. I remember wanting him to win season five so badly. His voice is incredible.
So who am I talking about? The awesome Elliott Yamin, of course.
Here is his first single, "Wait For You" with good production, nice melody, and sweet lyrics. Very nice if you've broken up with someone, but you still love them and are not going to give up on them.
And here's the official remix featuring Nina Sky. If you like the original, it's worth checking out. Wait For You Remix.
The last song for today will be his current single, "One Word"
'All I can say is amazing.'
It's a nice song for the lovers out there. If you have someone special in your life, who truely amazes you, then you'll definitely be able to appreciate this one.
if you're liking these songs, go out and buy the album. His self-titled album is in stores now, and it's definitely worth the money.
That's it for now. I'll be back soon to post more songs that I love.
